SCOTTSDALE - Following a 66, Adam Hadwin moved into a share of the WM Phoenix Open clubhouse lead with fellow countryman of Canada Nick Taylor. It can mark the first time two Canadians shared the lead after any round on the PGA Tour. They both played as members of Ledgeview GC in Abbotsford, British Columbia.
WM ambassador Charley Hoffman opened his 17th WM Phoenix Open with a 3-under (68). He’s bidding to become the first sponsor exemption to win on Tour since Martin Laird at the 2020 Shriners Children’s Open.
Xander Schauffele’s (67) is his sixth straight sub-70 opening round score at the WM Phoenix Open, currently the longest active streak at this event. Jon Rahm and Keegan Bradley (both with five straight) are currently on the course and can join Schauffele with a first round in the 60s.
