With Jon Rahm’s loss, the Semifinals will not include one of the top-16 seeds for the first time since the event introduced the group play format in 2015.
Billy Horschel outlasted Tommy Fleetwood in a playoff, with Horschel making a par-5 on the 12th hole to advance after an errant Fleetwood tee shot cost him a stroke penalty.

On This Day in Golf History:
March 28, 1993 - Nick Price shot a final round (67) and won The PLAYERS Championship by five strokes over Bernhard Langer at TPC Sawgrass. Price’s signature shot of the final round came on the par 4 fourth whole when his tee-shot settled on the lip of a fairway bunker. With one foot in the bunker, Price hit a baseball-style swing at the ball that resulted in a tap-in birdie. Price later called it, “the greatest shot of my life.” - (Courtesy of Randy Walker), Author of On This Day in Golf History, available via Amazon.com and by clicking HERE
