ATLANTA - After opening the second round with a bogey on No. 1, Ryan Gerard (T1/-10) carded six birdies en route to a 5-under (65). He now holds his second career 36-hole lead/co-lead on Tour, the first since the 2023 Barracuda Championship/finished when he finished fifth.
This weekend’s (130), matches his career-low 36-hole score in standard stroke-play events on TOUR (2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open/finished 9th).
Gerard is one of six players making their TOUR Championship debut; would be the first player since Xander Schauffele (2017) to win the TOUR Championship in their tournament debut.
Viktor Hovland (T1/-10) holds his sixth career 36-hole lead/co-lead on TOUR (most recent: 2023 TOUR Championship/Won). He’s 2-for-5 in converting 36-hole lead to victory (2020 Puerto Rico Open, 2023 TOUR Championship).
The 2023 FedExCup Champion is making his seventh consecutive TOUR Championship appearance.
FedEx Cup Notes:
Collin Morikawa (T3/-9) posts 67 and is bogey free over his last 35 holes; making his seventh consecutive TOUR Championship appearance after collecting one win (AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am) and six other top-10 finishes this season.
Chris Gotterup (T3/-9) is seeking a TOUR-leading four victories during the 2026 season (Sony Open in Hawaii, WM Phoenix Open, John Deere Classic); finished T10 in his TOUR Championship debut in 2025.
Cameron Young (T5/-8) made a 41’ 7” eagle putt on No. 18 to cap off a second-round 62, one shy of tying his season-low 18-hole score (61/R2/Rocket Classic); posted even-par 70 in round one to sit T27 and competed as a single in round two; 62 marks the low round of the day by three strokes.
The 2024 FedExCup Champion, Scottie Scheffler (T5/-8), carded a second-round 67, his 10th consecutive round in the 60s at East Lake Golf Club
