ATLANTA - FedExCup leader Patrick Cantlay (-17) took his sixth career 36-hole lead/co-lead with a bogey-free (66) as he birdied the final two holes to maintain his small advantage. Jon Rahm birdied five of his last seven holes, including his final three, to record his second consecutive (65) and is one stroke back.
Bryson DeChambeau hit 15 of 18 greens and birdied his final two holes to remain within six strokes.
Justin Thomas (4th/-10) eagled the par-5 sixth hole en route to his second consecutive (67) while he holed 118’ 3” feet of putts, including a birdie from 60’ 7” on the par-4 14th hole, which marked his longest putt made this season. Thomas is the only player inside the Top 10 after any round of the TOUR Championship since 2016 (22 of 23 rounds) and he hasn’t finished lower than T-7 in five previous TOUR Championship appearances, including a runner-up finish in 2020.
Rahm and Cantlay will be paired together for the 20th time in their careers.
