Second Round Coverage of the 2026 Wyndham Championship
Note: Due to inclement weather, the first round was suspended at 6:56pm ET with 12 players left to complete the round. The first round resumed at 7:59am and was completed at 8:25am. The second round began as scheduled.

GREENSBORO - Beau Hossler (1st/-9), in his 252nd start, carded seven birdies and an eagle (No. 15) en route to a 9-under (61), his second-lowest round on TOUR. He shot (60) in the opening round of the 2024 Wyndham Championship, eventually finishing T12.
This effort by Hossler marks the 15th round of (61) or better on TOUR this season and the sixth in the last three tournaments: 3M Open (2), Rocket Classic (3).
Hossler holds 18-hole lead/co-lead in an individual stroke-play event on TOUR for the sixth time (0-for-5 to date). Most recent: 2024 Wyndham Championship (finished T12).
He the field in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green (6.639) and Strokes Gained: Approach the Green (4.409).
Tournament Notes
In his 500th round on TOUR, Sahith Theegala (T2/-8) made eight birdies and one bogey (par-3 7th hole) to become the eighth player to post 28 for nine holes this season. Theegala played nine holes (front or back) without a par for the first time in his career. That marked his longest birdie streak on TOUR with six consecutive birdies on Nos. 1-6 (2024 Sentry/R1). He made eight consecutive pars on the back nine before holing an 18-inch birdie putt on the final hole.
In his tournament debut, No. 1 player in the PGA TOUR University Ranking Ben James (T2/-8) recorded a career-best 18-hole score with an 8-under (62). His previous best: 63/R2/2026 RBC Canadian Open); marks first time as a professional making two eagles in one round (Nos. 5 and 15); finished T4 at last month’s Corales Puntacana Championship, his best result on TOUR.
Eric Cole (4th/-7) notched eight birdies after an opening-hole bogey to card 63, matching his lowest 18-hole score in 13 rounds at Sedgefield Country Club (63/R4/2024); 2023 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year seeks first title in his 128th start. He lost a playoff to Russell Henley at the 2026 Charles Schwab Challenge

Please excuse the delay this morning, as all of New England was still out celebrating the Boston Red Sox incredible, come-from-behind (6x), 13-inning victory to sweep the Chicago White Sox at Fenway Park. It marked their 8th straight win, after a previous 15-game win streak. The Red Sox have won 10 of their last 11, and are 17-3 since the MLB All-Star break.
