Preview of Opening Round of the '26 Wyndham Championship

GREENSBORO - Jackson Koivun is making his second appearance at the Wyndham Championship (2025/T5 as a sponsor exemption) and the 21-year-old enters the week two weeks removed from his first PGA TOUR title at the 3M Open where he earned a three-stroke victory over runner-up Scottie Scheffler.
Koivun became the youngest winner since Aldrich Potgieter at the 2025 Rocket Classic, as well as the youngest American player to win a PGA TOUR event by multiple strokes since the 1932 WM Phoenix Open (Ralph Guldahl).

August 6, 1972 - Gary Player hit, perhaps, the signature shot of his career en route to winning the PGA Championship at Oakland Hills in Michigan. Having lost his lead to Jim Jamieson with three holes to play, Player hit a nine-iron, blind approach shot over water and trees on the 16th hole to within four feet.
