May 7, 2006 -Jim Furyk won his 11th PGA Tour title at the Wachovia Championship at Quail Hollow - the same course being utilized today. Furyk defeated Trevor Immelman on the first hole of a sudden death playoff. Immelman had to two-putt from 50 feet on the final hole of regulation to earn his first-ever tournament on the United States, but missed a 10-foot par putt to fall into the playoff. After Immelman’s tee shot found deep rough and Furyk made a six foot par putt to claim victory and a $1.134m first place check.
