ROYAL BIRKDALE - Sam Burns (1st/-10) is seeking his sixth PGA TOUR title and first major championship in his 199th start on TOUR. A victory would come in 26th major championship start.
He does have Top-10 finishes in four of his last nine (T9/2024 U.S. Open, T7/2025 U.S. Open, T7/2026 Masters, 2nd/2026 U.S. Open). Burns had one Top-25 finish in his first 16 major starts (2022 PGA Championship/T20).
A win would come in his sixth Open Championship appearance (best: T31/2024).
Burns would become the 13th consecutive first-time winner of the event, currently the longest streak of first-time winners at The Open (starting with Phil Mickelson in 2013).

Ryan Fox (T2/-8) is seeking to become the second player from New Zealand to win The Open Championship, joining Bob Charles (1963/Royal Lytham & St Annes). At No. 56 in the Official World Golf Ranking, Fox would become the lowest-ranked winner of the event since Darren Clarke in 2011 (No. 111).
Seoul, South Korea native, Si Woo Kim (T2/-8) seeks to become the first player from Asia to win The Open Championship; making his eighth start at the event (best: T15/2022) and a win would come in 38th major championship appearance (best: T8/2025 PGA Championship).

Information on the Puntacana Championship
The 2026 Corales Puntacana Championship marks the ninth playing of the PGA TOUR’s first and only tournament in the Dominican Republic. The Corales Puntacana Championship has been co-sanctioned by the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour since 2022 as part of the Strategic Alliance between both Tours. The winner will receive 300 FedExCup points and a two-year exemption on the PGA TOUR, if not already exempt.
