This is one of the three player-hosted (Jack Nicklaus) invitationals, and it will feature a 36-hole cut to the low 50 players and ties and any player within 10 strokes of the 36-hole lead. (Byron Nelson and Tiger Woods are the others).
Players earning spots in the field via the Aon Next 10 (top FedExCup points earners through the Charles Schwab Challenge): Ben Griffin, Andrew Novak, Harris English, J.J. Spaun, Maverick McNealy, Daniel Berger, Justin Rose, Michael Kim, Jacob Bridgeman, and Nick Taylor.
The Memorial is the penultimate PGA Tour event with an elevated Signature status, with The Traveler’s in Hartford the final such event. This tournament boasts a prize pool of $20 million and a winner’s share of $4,000,000, plus a take-away of 700 FedEx Cup points to the winner.
Muirfield Village Golf Club has hosted the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday annually since the inaugural event in 1976. Muirfield also hosted 1992 U.S. Amateur, 1987 Ryder Cup, 1998 Solheim Cup, 1986 U.S. Junior Amateur and 2013 Presidents Cup. It’s the only course in the United States to host the Ryder Cup, Solheim Cup and Presidents Cup.

May 28, 1950 - Sam Snead shot a final round (73) to hold-on and win the Colonial National Invitational Tournament in Fort Worth, Texas, defeating Skip Alexander by three strokes.
