McKINNEY, TEXAS - Scottie Scheffler is back in true form. Scheffler began round two with eight consecutive pars and an eagle at his ninth hole (No. 18) before play was suspended.
At the resumption of play after six hour delay, Scheffler made six birdies en route to a 6-under (30) on his inward nine for 8-under (63) on the wet day with his 124 (-18) marking his best 36-hole total on TOUR. Scheffler’s previous best, 127/2019 The Greenbrier/T7; shot 128 at this event in 2023 en route to a T5 finish.
His 18-under marks his best 36-hole score in relation to par (previous, 16-under/2024 Sentry) and is one stroke shy of the all-time 36-hole opening score on TOUR (since 1983): Justin Thomas/123/2017 Sony Open in Hawaii.
