PGA Tour Brunch | Wrap-Up of the 2026 SONY Open in Hawaii

Chris Gotterup earned his third win on TOUR in his 69th start at the age of 26 years, 5 months, 29 days. His previous wins: 2024 ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, 2025 Genesis Scottish Open). The SONY Open was his second win in his last eight starts on TOUR after earning one win in his first 61 starts.
Gotterup is the first player since Tom Kim (2023 Shriners Children’s Open/44th start) to earn first three PGA TOUR wins in less than 70 starts.
Sunday’s final matched his low final-round score on TOUR (64), with the previous instance: 2025 CJ CUP Byron Nelson/finished T15. It was his first win when trailing entering the final round on TOUR (54-hole positions of wins: led at the 2024 ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, was T1 at the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open, was T2 at the 2026 Sony Open Hawaii). Gotterup was the sixth player in the last seven years to come from behind after trailing entering the final round to win the Sony Open in Hawaii; trailed 54-hole leader Davis Riley by two strokes.

January 19, 2003 - Ernie Els defeated Aaron Baddelay on the second playoff hole at the SONY Open in Hawaii. Els hit an incredible 43-foot birdie putt from the fringe of the 10th green at Waialae Country Club.
