Previews of the '24 Genesis Scottish Open and the Isco Championship
NORTH BERWICK (Scotland) - The 2025 Genesis Scottish Open is the 31st of 36 FedEx Cup regular season events on the annual PGA TOUR schedule. In other words, we’re coming down the home stretch, although that stretch starts in Scotland and moves to England next week at The Open.
This the fourth consecutive year that the Genesis Scottish Open is co-sanctioned by the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour as part of the Strategic Alliance between both Tours.
The Renaissance Club hosts the Genesis Scottish Open for the seventh consecutive year, with two of the last three winners among the current Top Three in the Official World Golf Ranking (No. 2/Rory McIlroy/2023, No. 3/Xander Schauffele/2022).
Other champions at The Renaissance Club since 2019 include current PGA TOUR members Aaron Rai (2020), Min Woo Lee (2021) and Robert MacIntyre (2024).
Notes:
Eight of the top 10 in the Official World Golf Ranking are in the field: No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, No. 2 Rory McIlroy, No. 3 Xander Schauffele, No. 4 Justin Thomas, No. 5 Collin Morikawa, No. 8 J.J. Spaun, No. 9 Ludvig Åberg, No. 10 Sepp Straka.
Six past FedExCup champions: Brandt Snedeker (2012), Rory McIlroy (2016, 2019, 2022), Justin Thomas (2017), Justin Rose (2018), Viktor Hovland (2023), Scottie Scheffler (2024).
Brian Campbell, a two-time winner this season (including at last week’s John Deere Classic), is seeking to become the first to win back-to-back tournaments since Scottie Scheffler (2024 Masters Tournament, RBC Heritage).
There are nine past champions in the field: Luke Donald (2011), Justin Rose (2014), Alex Noren (2016), Brandon Stone (2018), Bernd Wiesberger (2019), Aaron Rai (2020), Xander Schauffele (2022), Rory McIlroy (2023), Robert MacIntyre (2024)
Sponsor exemptions: Alex Noren, Richie Ramsay, and Brandt Snedeker.
The ISCO Championship debuted on the PGA TOUR in 2015 and was played at Keene Trace Golf Club in Lexington since 2018. The tournament’s move to Hurstbourne Country Club in Louisville this year marks the first time a non-major event on the PGA TOUR has been staged in Louisville since the Kentucky Derby Open was held at Seneca Golf Course in the late 1950s, when Gary Player captured his first career victory on the PGA TOUR in 1958.
As part of the Strategic Alliance between the PGA TOUR and the DP World Tour, the ISCO Championship features a field of 156 players including 50 players from the DP World Tour with the winner receiving benefits on each Tour:
FedExCup points: 300
DP World Tour: 585
PGA TOUR exemption (for current PGA TOUR members): thru 2027
PGA TOUR exemption (for non-members): thru 2026
DP World Tour exemption: thru 2027
