NORTH BERWICK (Scotland) - The first round of the Genesis Scottish Open marked the first time the event has had multiple leaders after any round since the Scottish Open became co-sanctioned by the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour in 2022.
Nico Echavarria (T1/-6) posted a (64), his best first-round score since opening with a 64 en route to winning the 2024 Baycurrent Classic. He holds the first-round lead/co-lead for the first time; previous-best position: 2024 Baycurrent Classic (T2).
Rory McIlroy (T33/-2) birdied his final three holes for a 2-under 68. He seeks to become the first player to win the Masters Tournament and Genesis Scottish Open in the same season.
Robert MacIntyre (T33/-2) posted a 2-under 68 in bid to become the first player to successfully defend at the Genesis Scottish Open.

Chan Kim (1st/-9) shot a 9-under (61), one stroke shy of the tournament 18-hole record. The round marked his career-low round on TOUR with the previous low being a (63) (twice), most recently in the final round of the 2024 ISCO Championship.
Chan Kim’s bogey-free 61 included eagle-2 at No. 4 when he holed his approach shot from 123 yards.
