PGA Tour Brunch on the 2026 Rocket Mortgage Classic
DETROIT - Sadly, it was the final Rocket Classic, but it was a good one.
Michael Thorbjornsen (1st/-18) earned his first PGA TOUR victory in 65th career start at the age 24 years, 10 months, 17 days. The victory marked the first time this season that two players 24-years-old or younger have won on TOUR in back-to-back weeks (Jackson Koivun/3M Open/21 years, 2 months, 3 days).
Thorbjornsen’s previous best finishes on TOUR: T2 (2024 John Deere Classic, 2025 Corales Puntacana Championship) and he became the eighth first-time winner on TOUR this season.
Thorbjornsen also became the fourth first-time winner in tournament history (Nate Lashley/2019, Cam Davis/2021, Aldrich Potgieter/2025).
Thorbjornsen entered the final round four strokes back and carded a bogey-free (63) to claim a two-stroke victory.

August 3, 1979 - Sam Snead set the record as the oldest player to make the cut in a major championship when, at 67 years, two months and seven days, he makes the cut at the PGA Championship at Oakland Hills in Michigan.
