DETROIT - With only two weeks remaining in the PGA Tour regular season, much of the focus this week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic will be on the FedEx Cup standings and players positioning in the Top 125.

After the Wyndham Championship, the Top 125 players will qualify for the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Aug. 11-14 at TPC Southwind in Germantown, Tennessee. From there, the Top 70 eligible players will qualify for the following week’s BMW Championship at Wilmington (Delaware) Country Club, with the Top 30 after the BMW earning spots in the field for the season-ending TOUR Championship at Atlanta’s East Lake Golf Club.

Heading into the RMC, Denny McCarthy has three Top 10s in his last four outings.

Today is Jordan Spieth’s 29th birthday.

TL’s Wedge for an Edge: Back to see the Crazy Car-makers, as John Salley used to call them in his NBA Pistons days. Last week, we picked Tony Finau to take the 3M, let’s see what this week brings along: Cameron Champ, Will Zalatoris, Taylor Pendrith and Cameron Young. Reserves: Sahith Theegala and Troy Merritt. For the Tour One and Done? Cameron Young.
