PGA Tour Brunch | R-2 Coverage of 2025 Rocket Mortgage Classic

DETROIT - Kevin Roy set new 18-hole tournament scoring record with a 10-under (62), previously set as a (63), 10 times, most recently by Min Woo Lee/R1/2025).
The (62) matched his career-low 18-hole score on TOUR (R1/2025 Puerto Rico Open).
Roy holds an 18-hole lead/co-lead for the second time of his career on TOUR (2025 Puerto Rico Open/T6), making his second career start in the Rocket Classic (MC/2023)
Aldrich Potgieter (T1/-10) matched Roy’s 10-under (62) to claim a share of the first-round lead and the 18-hole tournament scoring record.
Potgieter recorded a 7-under (29) on his first nine holes (Nos. 10-18), becoming the first player to card a sub-30 score on the back nine at Detroit Golf Club. It marked his first career 18-hole lead/co-lead on TOUR.
Opening with a 9-under (63), Min Woo Lee of Australia (T3/-9) tied his career-low 18-hole score on TOUR (63/R3/2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open/Won) and set a new career-low score relative to par (previous: 7-under, two times, R1/2024 American Express and R3/2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open). He’s made his second career start in the Rocket Classic (T2/2024).
Notes:
Defending champion Cam Davis (T149/+2) opened with a (74). The only two-time winner in tournament history, Davis has finished inside the Top-25 in each of his last four starts in the event (Won/2024, T17/2023, T14/2022, Won/2021).
Total of 25 players recorded bogey-free rounds, the most in a single round this season (previous: 23/R1/The American Express)
There were 129 players were under-par in the first round, the most in a single round this season, surpassing 118/R2/The American Express.
