Final Round Coverage of the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town, SC
HILTON HEAD - Last week’s Masters champ Scottie Scheffler has held the 54-hole leads/co-lead in four of his last five starts and leads the PGA TOUR with four 54-hole leads/co-leads this season as he begins the final round atop the leaderboard at the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Club in South Carolina.
It’s Scheffler’s 12th career 54-hole lead/co-lead in individual stroke-play events on TOUR, the most of any player since he joined the TOUR at the start of the 2019-20 season. He stands 5-for-11 to date converting to victory.
Coming off his win at last week’s Masters Tournament, the FedEx Cup leader and World No. 1 can become the first player since Tiger Woods in 2006 to win a major and win on TOUR the following week. Woods won the PGA Championship and followed it with a win at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
Scheffler can join Bernhard Langer (1985) as the only players to win the Masters Tournament and RBC Heritage in back-to-back weeks. The great Jack Nicklaus won both events in 1975, but had the Wyndham Championship separating the two.
Scheffler’s (63) yesterday was his best round since Round-3 of the 2023 Travelers Championship (63) and marks his 38th consecutive par-or-better round to begin the season.
