It's Moving Day at the 2026 RBC Heritage | Hilton Head
HILTON HEAD - Matt Fitzpatrick (1st/-14) secured his third 36-hole lead/co-lead on TOUR, but is 0-for-2 converting to victory (2019 WGC-HSBC Champions/7th, 2019 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational/T4).
Fitzpatrick’s bogey-free (63) tied his career-low 18-hole score (2025 Genesis Scottish Open/R2, 2025 Travelers Championship/R3, 2024 Travelers Championship/R3, 2023 RBC Heritage/R3). His (128) marks his lowest 36-hole score on TOUR; previous best was 131 (2019 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational).
Viktor Hovland (2nd/-13) notched the best 36-hole score (129) of his PGA TOUR career in his 140th start with his previous best of (132) happening six times, most recently at 2024 Sentry). Hovland sits inside the top three after two rounds for the first time since the 2025 U.S. Open (finished 3rd); best finish in three starts at the RBC Heritage is T13 (2025); one top-10 in seven starts this year (T10/WM Phoenix Open).
Following rounds of (64) and (68), Harris English (3rd/-10) recorded his best opening 36-hole score in 13 career starts at Harbor Town with (132). His previous best was (136) (68-68) in 2012 when he finished T8. That was his lone Top-10 in the event.
With a second-round (64), Patrick Cantlay (T4/-9) has now recorded a score in the 60s in 24 of 32 career rounds played at Harbor Town. He owns five top-three finishes in eight prior appearances in the RBC Heritage with his best of 2nd/2022).
Sepp Straka (T4/-9) ranks third in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee (1.950) and sixth in Strokes Gained: Putting (4.001) and owns two top-five finishes in six career starts in the RBC Heritage (T5/2024, T3/2022).
The 18-hole leader, Ludvig Åberg (T4/-9), recorded four birdies against three back-nine bogeys for a 1-under 70; sits inside the top five after 36 holes for the fourth time in his last five starts (Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, THE PLAYERS Championship, Valero Texas Open).

April 18, 2010 - Jim Furyk won the Verizon Heritage Classic (same tournament s this one) when Brian Davis called a two-shot penalty on himself on the first hole of a sudden death playoff. Davis hit a reed of long grass and violated rule 13.4 - moving of a loose impediment during take-away. Furyk’s victory was his 15th career PGA Tour title.
