Mexico Open at Vidanta | Second Round

VALLARTA, México - The Mexico Open at Vidanta, previously known as Abierto Mexicano de Golf and hosted by multiple tours, dates to 1944. After 18 holes, World No. 2 Jon Rahm holds first-round lead/co-lead (-7) for ninth time on Tour.

Jonathan Byrd carded a front-nine (29) (-6) en route to his opening-round 64 (-7) which marks his second round of (64) this season (64/R1/The RSM Classic/T-37).

Monday qualifier Bryson Nimmer is one of six first-round co-leaders while Kurt Kitayama is the only first-round co-leader who played in the afternoon wave which created the first six-way tie for the lead after any round on the PGA Tour since 2019 Travelers Championship (R-1).

TV COVERAGE: Today’s second round is scheduled for coverage from 3:30pm to 6:30pm (ET) on Golf Channel. On Saturday and Sunday, coverage is set for 1:00pm to 3:00pm (ET) on Golf Channel and 3:00 to 6:00pm (ET) on CBS.

Mexico Open Tee Times start today at 8:45am (ET) and go to 3:46pm (ET).

Scott Gutschewski (T-21/-4) aced No. 5 with a 7-iron, his second hole-in-one on Tour (2009 Turning Stone Resort Championship) and then after starting the tournament double bogey, bogey Kiradech Aphibarnrat (T-61/-1) aced the 189-yard fifth hole with a 5-iron for his first hole-in-one on the Tour.
