ORLANDO - Welcome to a doubleheader weekend of PGA Tour golf with the A+ field at the Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando and the up & comers playing at the Puerto Rico Open.

PGA Tour Brunch is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

The Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard is the fourth designated event of the PGA Tour season, featuring 43 of the Top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking, the top 30 players in the FedExCup standings and all 14 players that have won on Tour this season. The last time 40 or more of the Top 50 players in the OWGR competed in a PGA Tour event was at the 2022 Open Championship and the last non-major with 40-of-50 was the 2022 PLAYERS Championship.

The Purse for the Arnold Palmer will be a cool $20m and the winner will pocket $3.6m.

FedExCup leader Jon Rahm earned his 10th career PGA Tour victory and third of the season in his most recent start, winning The Genesis Invitational. With the win, Rahm became the first player since Johnny Miller in 1975 to win three times in a calendar year before March 1. The last player to win four times before April 1 was also Miller, in 1974. Rahm regained the No. 1 position in the Official World Golf Ranking with his win at The Genesis Invitational, the third time this season that the No. 1 spot changed and second in 2023. Both Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler, who have previously held the World No. 1 position this season, have a chance to return to No. 1.

This week, PGA Tour Brunch will focus 90% of the coverage on the Arnold Palmer Invitational, but will supply information and key links for the Puerto Rico Open, too.
