Waste Management phoenix Open - Tournament Preview
SCOTTSDALE - The Waste Management (WM) Phoenix Open field features six of the top 10 in the Official World Golf Ranking, the most since 2003, and 28 of the Top 50 which is the most since 2004. In addition, there are 99 PGA Tour winners in the field, tied for the most of any event on Tour since the 2021 PLAYERS Championship.
Headlining the field are World No. 1 Jon Rahm, a graduate of Arizona State and Scottsdale resident; World No. 3 Viktor Hovland, who won his third PGA TOUR title earlier this season at the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba; and Patrick Cantlay, the reigning FedExCup Champion who is making his tournament debut. In addition, FedEx Cup leader and two-time WM Phoenix Open champion Hideki Matsuyama looks for his third victory of the season.
The Basics:
The Waste Management Phoenix Open Tee Times start Thursday at 7:15am (local)/9:15pm (ET) and going to 1:50pm (local)/3:50pm (ET).
Weather: Thursday’s forecast is for sunny skies and 65-degrees for the opening round with winds five to 13 mph and a 0% chance of rain (link). Sunny skies and low winds expected all weekend.
