Second Round Coverage of the 2025 PGA | Quail Hollow | Carolina

CHARLOTTE - Whoever had Jonathan Vegas, Ryan Gerard and Cam Davis as their Top 3 to lead the 2025 PGA Championship, raise your hand.
Following a 7-under (64), Vegas became the first Venezuelan to hold the lead/co-lead in a major championship. His (64) marked his best score in 45 major championship rounds with the previous best, a (67) in R4/2016 PGA Championship.
Ryan Gerard (T2/-5) posted his 13th par-or-better opening round in 14 individual stroke-play events this season. His only over-par opening round was a (73) at the Valero Texas Open.
Cam Davis (T2/-5) equalled his best position following any round in a major championship, tying a T2/2021 PGA Championship/R1). Davis’ best finish in 10 previous major championships is T4 at the 2023 PGA Championship.
Luke Donald (T4/-4) managed the only bogey-free round of the day and it marked his first bogey-free round in a major championship since the 2015 Open Championship (R1).
Alex Smalley (T4/-4) became the last player in the field following Sahith Theegala’s WD on Wednesday b/c of a neck injury.
