ROCHESTER, NY - Three players tied for the lead - Scottie Scheffler, Corey Connors and Viktor Hovland - marks the most tied for the 36-hole lead at the PGA Championship since 2012 (3/2012 PGA Championship/The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island).
World No. 2 and 2022 Masters champion Scottie Scheffler seeks a second consecutive season with major title while co-leaders Corey Conners, Viktor Hovland seek their first major.
Hovland holds second lead/co-lead at a major (any round) of the season (2023 Masters/R-1.
Defending champion Justin Thomas and his friend and rival, Jordan Spieth, who is looking to complete the Career Grand Slam, make the cut on the number.
A day after tying his highest score in the event (76), World No. 1 Jon Rahm (T-48) carded a 2-under (68) and sits at 4- over, making the cut by a stroke. He extended his Tour-best (active) streak of consecutive cuts made in majors to 17. He last missed a cut in a major: at the 2019 PGA Championship.
