CHARLOTTE - The hottest of the hot, the reigning PGA Tour Player of the Year and the 2025 PGA Championship 54-hole leader with a three shot advantage could earn his third major championship title, adding to the 2022 and ‘24 Masters in just his 23rd start in a major.
With a victory today, Scottie Scheffler can become the 48th player with three or more major championships. 14 players have won the Masters Tournament and PGA Championship in their career, most recently Rory McIlroy.
Scheffler could become the 65th player with 15 or more wins on the PGA TOUR and would move to T59 on the all-time wins list.
Jhonattan Vegas (T5/-6) recorded a third-round (73) to fall five behind Scheffler. ould become the seventh player to carry the outright lead after the first and second rounds of a PGA Championship to victory (most recent: Xander Schauffele/2024).
