PONTE VEDRA BEACH - The 2022 PLAYERS Championship is slowly getting on track with the weather permitting. India’s Anirban Lahiri was atop the leaderboard at the suspension of play Sunday night. The last player from India to hold lead/co-lead after any round on Tour was Shubhankar Sharma.
The 18- and 36-hole co-leader, Tom Hoge, is one stroke back as he looks for his second Tour title in as many months.
Sebastián Muñoz (6-under thru *14) was in the best scoring position (six under par) for Round 3 for any player in the tournament, at time of Sunday night’s suspension.
Paul Casey is two back and on a stretch of 42 consecutive bogey-free holes, the most of any player this week at the wet TPC Sawgrass. Greens will remain soft this morning.
Shane Lowry made the 10th ace in tournament history at famed No. 17 and second of his career on Tour.
The last Monday finish at THE PLAYERS came in 2005, with Fred Funk as champion.
