Emiliano Grillo tied his lowest round of his PGA Tour career, shooting an 8-under 63 He extended his streak of par-or-better rounds at Mayakoba to a perfect 18-for-18.
In his post round interview, Grillo took it all in stride: “Nothing really to comment about today,” he said. “Played well all day, made some good putts and hit it close. All I can ask for. Everything worked today. Played from the fairway, hit it close and when it wasn't too close, I made putts. It was one of those days.”
Russell Knox, who had the 18-hole lead after shooting a 65, shot a 69 and is in fourth place at 8-under (134)
Weather: Due to inclement weather, there was a one-hour delay to all tee times. Preferred lies in closely mown areas were in effect. Due to darkness, the second round was suspended for the day at 6:10 p.m. ET with 18 players remaining on the course. They will return at 8:00 a.m. Saturday to complete their second rounds.

The National Golf Foundation reported that the number of “rounds played” increase in 2020 could be more than 50 million. That figure comes after losing about 20 million rounds in March/April as the Coronavirus lockdown was in full force. … The only year with a more significant increase came in 1997 when Tiger Woods burst onto the golf scene.
The USGA is preparing for the 75th US Women’s U.S. Open at The Champions Golf Club in Houston. Because of the limited daylight hours in December, the tournament will be played on two courses, the 6,731-yard Cypress Creek and neighboring 6,558-yard Jack Rabbit. (Golf World)
