Lucas Glover (1st/-14) posted a bogey-free 14-under (128) after 36 holes and joined Blades Brown as the only two bogey-free players after two rounds. Glover’s 128 marks his career-best 36-hole score in his 582nd start on TOUR (previous best: 129/2010 Wyndham Championship/finished 7th). He holds 36-hole lead/co-lead for 11th time on TOUR (most recent: 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship/Won), but is only 1-for-10 in converting 36-hole lead/co-lead into victory.
Glover became the oldest 36-hole leader/co-leader of the John Deere Classic at 46 years, 7 months, and 21 days with the previous being Fred Funk at 46 years, 1 month, and 12 days in 2002.
First-round co-leader Zac Blair (3rd/-11) cards a 3-under 68; best finish in eight starts this season: T8/Puerto Rico Open. Six players are tied four shots off the lead at 10-under, including four players seeking their first PGA TOUR title: Jackson Suber (45th start), David Lipsky (154th start), Ryo Hisatsune (82nd start), Ben Kohles (120th start)
Cedar Rapids, Iowa native Zach Johnson (T11/-8) cards a second-round 1-under 70; looks to become fifth player to win on the PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions in the same calendar year. (Raymond Floyd, Craig Stadler, Fred Funk and Phil Mickelson).
A few notables who missed the cut include defending champion Brian Campbell, Daniel Berger, Webb Simpson, Denny McCarthy and Michael Kim.
Seamus Power withdrew after shooting (77) on Thursday.
