SILVIS - Doug Ghim’s (130) marked his lowest opening 36-hole score on TOUR with his previous best: 131/2025 Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches). Gihm holds his first 36-hole lead on TOUR (previous best 36-hole position: T2/2022 Genesis Scottish Open).
Gihm opened first round with a bogey-free 9-under 62, his career-low in 488 rounds (previous: 63/four times) and followed with a (68).
Notes:
Defending champion Davis Thompson (T2/-11) carded his second career bogey-free round on TOUR this season (2025 The American Express/R3). He is seeking to become the first repeat winner at the John Deere Classic since Steve Stricker won three in a row from 2009-11.
Six-time PGA TOUR winner Max Homa (T2/-11) recorded his best 36-hole start this season (previous: 134/Truist Championship). Homa is in search of his first Top-10 result this year and best in 16 starts this season: T12/Masters.
Brian Campbell (T2/-11) holds T2 position after 36 holes for the second time in his career (previous: 2025 Mexico Open at Vidanta World, where he went on to secure his first PGA TOUR victory)
In search of his first TOUR victory, David Lipsky (T2/-11) tied his career low 36-hole score: 131/2023 Sony Open in Hawaii.
