SILVIS - Chris Gotterup (1st/-20) picked-up his fifth career PGA TOUR victory in his 85th start at the age of 26 years, 11 months, 16 days. His PGA TOUR wins include (5): 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic, 2025 Genesis Scottish Open, 2026 Sony Open in Hawaii, 2026 WM Phoenix Open, and this week’s 2026 John Deere Classic.
Gotterup entered the final round five shots back, two shy of the largest come-from-behind victory in tournament history: (7 shots), by Roger Maltbie/1975. The five shots back effort marks Gotterup’s largest come-from-behind victory on TOUR (previous: four shots back, 2026 WM Phoenix Open).
Gotterup posted a bogey-free 9-under 62, his second-lowest 18-hole score in 279 rounds (best 18-hole score: 61/R2/Genesis Scottish Open). He carded nine birdies in the final round, matching his career high (other: 2026 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am/R1)
The victory came in his fourth appearance at the John Deere Classic (T4/2022, MC/2024, T21/2025, Won/2026).
