First Round Coverage of the 2026 John Deere Classic | Deere Run
SILVIS - There will be a new PGA Tour professional this weekend, should he make the 36-hole cut.
Jackson Koivun is making his professional debut and first as a TOUR member. The San Jose, California native earned PGA TOUR membership through PGA TOUR University Accelerated, which rewards high-achieving college juniors, sophomores or freshmen the opportunity to earn PGA TOUR membership through their accomplishments in college, amateur or professional golf events.
Koivun crossed the required 20-point threshold during his sophomore year at Auburn with a Top-10 finish at the 2025 NCAA Championship and elected to accept TOUR membership following the conclusion of his junior season at Auburn. He after led the Tigers to their second national championship in three years Joins Gordon Sargent and Luke Clanton as the only players to earn PGA TOUR membership through PGA TOUR University Accelerated.
Preston Stout, the new No.1-ranked player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, will make his tournament debut at the John Deere Classic after receiving a sponsor exemption. stour has three starts on the PGA TOUR: MC/2025 3M Open, MC/2026 CJ CUP Byron Nelson, MC/2026 U.S. Open. The Oklahoma State junior won the 2026 NCAA Individual title in June to close his season with five wins, the most by a junior in program history.
