LOS ANGELES - Jacob Bridgeman was presented with a $4 million check as winner of The Genesis Invitational, and it represented 40% of his career earnings to date. Chance are, his career earnings will be significantly higher when he heads back to Riveria CC next year. He is destined for greatness at age 26.
Bridgeman (Winner/-18) earned his first PGA TOUR victory in 66th career start at the age 26 years, 2 months, 16 days. His previous best finish on TOUR was a T2/2025 Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches - the tournament coming this week.
Bridgeman became the 13th first-time winner at the tournament and first since 2015 (James Hahn). Bridgeman’s win in his Genesis tournament debut, made him the first player since 1975 (Pat Fitzsimons) to win in his first start at the event.
Bridgeman also became the first “first-time winner” this season and the first since Sami Valimaki at the 2025 RSM Classic.
World No. 1 and 20-time PGA TOUR winner Scottie Scheffler (T12/-11) finished T12, ending a streak of 18 consecutive Top 10 finishes on TOUR, the most consecutive Top 10 finishes on TOUR (since 1983). The last time fhe inished outside the Top 10 on TOUR was a T20 at the 2025 PLAYERS Championship (343 days ago).
Max Greyserman (T24/-7) made a hole-in-one on No. 14, his first career ace on TOUR and the seventh ace at No. 14 on record.
