MEMPHIS - Welcome to the PLAYOFFS! The 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship will feature 69 of the Top 70 players in the FedExCup standings with only Rory McIlroy sitting the weekend out. McIlroy, No. 2 in the World, is guaranteed his place in the TOUR Championship, three weeks from today.
Matti Schmidt will tee-off by his lonesome at 8:20am today. All others are paired and organized by FedExCup points. No. 1 points earner, Scottie Scheffler, will be grouped with Sepp Straka, rather than McIlroy, and they’ll tee-off at 1:45pm. Scheffler is the reigning FedEx Cup Champion and seeks to become first back-to-back winner of the PGA Tour Playoffs.
Aldrich Potgieter, at No. 43 in the FedEx Cup standings, will make his FedEx Cup Playoffs debut, and of the 35 rookies on the PGA TOUR for the 2025 season, he’s the only rookie to qualify for the Playoffs.
The Top 70 players in the FedExCup standings are eligible for the FedExCup Playoffs with the three events featuring a progressive cut with fields of 70 (FedEx St. Jude Championship), 50 (BMW Championship) and 30 (TOUR Championship).
The Top 50 are guaranteed places in all the PGA Tour signature events for 2026.
