Second Round Coverage of the 2023 Farmer's Insurance Open

LaJOLLA - With 8-under (64) on the North Course, Sam Ryder, Aaron Rai and Brent Grant share the 18-hole lead at the Farmers Insurance Open. All three players hold a share of the lead for the first time on Tour (after any round). Three players tied for the 18-hole lead ties the most on Tour this season (fourth instance).
Meanwhile, 2017 champion Jon Rahm, who entered the week with wins in his last two starts, carded a 1-over (73) on the South Course, snapping a streak of 12 consecutive under-par scores to start the 2022-23 season. Rahm stands T-116 and holds the longest active cuts-made streak on TOUR (21).
Scoring Average on the North Course was 2.481 strokes lower than the South Course with the lowest score on the South Course: 6-under (66) (Sam Stevens, Andrew Novak).
Defending champion Luke List (T12) carded a 5-under (67) on (NC). The last player to successfully defend his title at the event was Tiger Woods who won four consecutive titles from 2005 to 2008.

It’s ON! … The LIV “Golf Nation,” whatever nation that might be, failed to mention McIlroy is a three-time FedEx CUP winner, including 2022. McIlroy has 23 career Tour wins, currently eight international tournament wins, and took a Major, the 2011 U.S. Open by eight strokes. Reed took the 2018 Masters, of course, thus the misleading post (past eight years). McIlroy has some $68 million in career earnings to Reed’s not-too-shabby $37m
