By TERRY LYONS, Editor of Digital Sports Desk
SAN DIEGO - If you took Pierceson Coody and gave six strokes? You lose. Yes, veteran Justin Rose, 2016 Olympic gold medalist (Rio), lapped the field and won the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.
Coody, Si Woo Kim and Ryo Hisatsune all finished a TD and extra point back.
Rose earned his 13th PGA TOUR title in his 447th start at the age of 45 years, 6 months, 2 days to become the 85th player in PGA TOUR history to reach 13 wins as he moved into a T-73 on the all-time wins list.
Rose earned 500 FedEx Cup points and moved into a tie for No. 3 in the current FedEx Cup standings with the world’s No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. Chris Gotterup and Ryan Gerard rank No. 1 and 2 on the FedEx scoreboard to date.
Rose also moved from No. 10 to No. 3 in the Official World Golf Ranking, becoming the second-oldest player in the top-three of OWGR (Vijay Singh/45 years, 8 months), all-time.
