TORREY PINES - A day removed from his 30th birthday, Adam Schenk birdied eight straight holes (Nos. 4-11) en route to a career-low 10-under (62). His eight birds marked the event’s longest birdie streak since 2003 and is one shy of the PGA Tour record.
World No. 1 and 2017 Farmers Insurance Open champion Jon Rahm birdied three of his first four and three of his last four holes to shoot 7-under (65) while 2017 FedExCup Champion Justin Thomas fired a bogey-free 9-under (63) in his bid for a third consecutive Top-5 finish this season.
In search of his second Tour title (2015 Sanderson Farms Championship), Peter Malnati is the only player bogey-free through 36 holes. He is two back.
After opening in 9-under (63) on the North Course, Billy Horschel dropped back to T-12 with a 1-over (73) in round two.
