Final Round Coverage of the 2025 Cognizant Classic | Palm Beaches
By TERRY LYONS, Editor of Digital Sports Desk
PALM BEACH GARDENS - Jake Knapp can become the first wire-to-wire winner at the Cognizant Classic. He has his second 54-hole lead/co-lead on TOUR: 2024 Mexico Open at Vidanta World, and event he won.
Knapp notched his third lowest 54-hole total on TOUR: 194/2024 Mexico Open at VidantaWorld/Won, 195/2024 CJ CUP Byron Nelson/8th and is one stroke shy of the tournament-record 54-hole score: 196/Davis Love III/Country Club at Mirasol (Sunset)/2003.
Knapp joins Rickie Fowler (2017) and Chris Kirk (2023) with the low 54-hole score at PGA National (The Champion).
Michael Kim (2nd/-15) made his first bogey of the week at his 51st hole and sits No. 2 in the Aon Next 10 with a chance to play his way into next week’s Signature Event, the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard.
He finished T2 at WM Phoenix Open to earn a spot in last month’s Signature Event, The Genesis Invitational (T13).
Kim is seeking his first TOUR victory since the 2018 John Deere Classic.
