The eight-stroke margin was the second-largest margin of victory in CJ CUP Byron Nelson history (10 strokes/Sam Snead/1957). It was the largest margin of victory of the 2025 season on TOUR (previous: 7 strokes/Thomas Detry/WM Phoenix Open). The last winning margin of eight or more strokes on TOUR: 11 strokes (Dustin Johnson/ 2020 FedEx St. Jude Championship).
Scheffler’s previous best margin of victory? Was five strokes (two times; 2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, 2023 PLAYERS Championship).
It was Scheffler’s first win of the 2025 season in his ninth start.
Scheffler became the 72nd player to reach 14 wins on the PGA TOUR and he moved to T65 on the all-time wins list. Number 14 came about at another Signature event, Scheffler’s 139th start at the age of 28 years, 10 months, 13 days
