DALLAS/FT. WORTH - A year ago, Sam Burns defeated Scottie Scheffler in a playoff to win the 2022 Charles Schwab Challenge, Burns’ fourth of five career PGA Tour titles. Burns won the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play earlier this season and seeks his second career multiple-win season on the Tour. Burns, who won the Valspar Championship back-to-back in 2021 and 2022, would become the fourth player to successfully defend a title this season with a victory, joining Max Homa (Fortinet Championship), Rory McIlroy (THE CJ CUP) and Scheffler (WM Phoenix Open).

Three of the four multiple winners on Tour this season are in the field: Scheffler (WM Phoenix Open, THE PLAYERS Championship), Max Homa (Fortinet Championship, Farmers Insurance Open) and Tony Finau (Cadence Bank Houston Open, Mexico Open at Vidanta).
