FT. WORTH - Jordan Smith (1st/-10), a PGA TOUR rookie, posted a second-round (65), highlighted by an eagle, birdie start on Nos. 1-2. He holds a 36-hole lead/co-lead for the first time on TOUR with his previous best 36-hole position: T4/2022 Genesis Scottish Open/finished T24) (European Tour) member). … This marks his best position after any round on TOUR (previous: 3rd/2026 Valspar Championship/R3).
Smith owns four Top-25 finishes in 14 starts on TOUR this season and his solo-third finish at the 2026 Valspar Championship marks career-best finish on TOUR.
Smith leads the field in Driving Accuracy (24 of 28) as he’s in search of his maiden title in his 33rd career start on TOUR.
Michael Thorbjornsen (T2/-9) posted a 5-under (65) to sit one shot off the lead after the second round. His T2 matches his best position after 36 holes on TOUR.
First round leader, Ryan Gerard (T2/-9), carded a 3-under (67) in the second round. He owns two runner-up finishes on TOUR this season (Sony Open in Hawaii, The American Express).
Stephan Jaeger withdrew during the second round with a back injury.
The cutline came at (-3). The likes of Rickie Fowler and Tony Finau fell to the cut.

May 30, 1976 - Roger Maltbie won the inaugural Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village, a course designed by Jack Nicklaus in Dublin Ohio. Maltbie defeated Hale Irwin in a first-of-its-kind three hole, aggregate playoff which extended to a fourth hole.
