PGA Tour Brunch | Charles Schwab Preview
@PGATourBrunch and @DigSportsDesk Preview Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Club in Fort Worth, Texas
DALLAS/FORT WORTH - Since 1946, the Colonial Country Club has hosted a PGA Tour event, marking the longest running non-major tour event to be held at the same venue. Nine past Charles Schwab Challenge winners are returning to play, including defending champion and No. 26 in the FedEx Cup Jason Kokrak.
Jordan Spieth returns to his home state of Texas, once again, where he has 16 Top-10 finishes in Texas since 2013, the most of any player in that time frame. Spieth is one of nine players with two wins in Texas during the FedEx Cup-era (established 2007). He’s won the 2021 Valero Texas Open and 2016 Charles Schwab Challenge.
In addition to his 2016 victory in Fort Worth, the Dallas native has three runner-up finishes in nine starts at the Charles Schwab Challenge. In his last three Tour starts, Spieth earned his 13th career PGA Tour title (RBC Heritage), finished runner-up (AT&T Byron Nelson) and finished T-34 in the PGA Championship.
Sergio Garcia marks the only player since 1990 to earn his first PGA Tour victory at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
While recovering from wrist surgery, Bryson DeChambeau has withdrawn from the Charles Schwab Challenge and is replaced in the field by John Huh.

TL’s Wedge for an Edge: The picks fared well last week by quickly inserting Justin Thomas from reserve to my starting foursome. This week at Colonial/Charles Schwab, there’s no reason NOT to play Will Zalatoris. The rest is a bit more challenging. Daniel Berger will get a slot, as will Justin Rose and Davis Riley. Reserves: Tony Finau and Sebastian Munoz. If you haven’t used him, Jordan Spieth is a strong favorite in Fort Worth. For my Tour One and Done game at Charlie Schwab? It’ll be Zalatoris.
