PEBBLE BEACH - Sepp Straka claimed a three-stroke lead after a pair of 65s in each of the first two rounds to mark the largest 36-hole lead by any player this season in the fifth event of the year.
Straka holds the 36-hole lead/co-lead for the second time on TOUR - but finished T5 at the 2024 RBC Heritage.
Ludvig Åberg (illness) withdrew prior to the start of the second round.
Second-round scoring averages: Pebble Beach Golf Links (69.976), Spyglass Hill Golf Course (70.200).
Amateur Philippe Laffont and pro Andrew Novak are leading the Pro-Am after shooting a scorching 13-under (59).
