First Look at the 2021 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Only two of the courses at famed Pebble Beach golf links will be utilized this year. The Pebble Beach course is the primary venue, of course. Spyglass Hill will be rotated in during the first two days of play but the Monterey Peninsula course, which is usually the third course at this event, will not be included this year.

On Tuesday, World No. 1 Dustin Johnson who is fresh off a win on the European Tour, where he won the Saudi International for the second time in three years last weekend, decided to withdraw from Pebble Beach this year. Padraig Harrington withdrew due to COVID-19 (+) on Tuesday afternoon. Harrington, the European Ryder Cup captain has competed in one Tour event this year, missing the cut in last week's Waste Management Phoenix Open.

The deadline for making the field at The Masters is fast approaching. A win at Pebble Beach gets the job done for a player who has yet to qualify. Fan favorite Rickie Fowler is among those not qualified at Augusta National. Fowler MTC at the WM Phoenix Open last week.

Tee Times will begin with groups of three at both Pebble Beach (PB) and Spyglass (SH) on Thursday at 8:30am (local)/11:30am ET. (link)

Weather for Thursday: Rain to develop Thursday afternoon and continue into Thursday night. A few showers may linger into Friday morning with clearing skies by Friday afternoon.

Field Updates are plentiful:

Luke List (out) / Shawn Stefani (in)

For PGA Tour One and Done? I’m on Peter Malnati this week at Pebble Beach. Malnati was a T-11 last year at Pebble but is a 66-1 shot this week. If you don’t like Malnati, try Will Zalatoris for a Top 5 finish.
