BLAINE, Minn - Kurt Kitayama (Winner/-23) earned his second PGA TOUR title (2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard) in his 108th start at the age of 32 years, 6 months, 13 days.
Kitayama earned 500 FedEx Cup points to move from No. 110 to No. 53 in the FedEx Cup standings. He’s the third consecutive 3M Open winner to begin the tournament week outside the Top 70 in the FedExCup (Jhonattan Vegas/No. 147/2024; Lee Hodges/No. 74/2023). Now, he’s projected to move from No. 97 to No. 39 in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Kitayama sank 20 birdies on the weekend, the most birdies or better made on the weekend by a TOUR winner since 2003. The previous best: 19/Hideki Matsuyama/2025 Sentry).
Notes:
Sam Stevens (2nd/-22) closed with a back-nine (31) to collect his third career runner-up finish and second of the season (Farmers Insurance Open). Stevens led the field in Strokes Gained: Around the Green (3.565).
Jake Knapp (T3/-20) landed his fourth Top-10 finish of the season to move inside the Top 50 in the FedExCup (No. 47). He cared only his second bogey of the week at the par-5 18th hole, tied for the fewest bogeys or worse in the field (William
Mouw).
Playing the 2025 season with conditional status, Pierceson Coody (T3/-20) finishes inside the Top 10 to qualify for next week’s Wyndham Championship; collects his third Top-five finish in his 47th career TOUR start (best: T2/2024 ISCO Championship).
Matt Wallace (T3/-20) posts his first Top-10 finish on TOUR since the 2024 CJ CUP Byron Nelson (T4).
David Lipsky (T3/-20) carded weekend rounds of 64-64 for his third Top-10 of the season and second in four starts (T3/John Deere Classic).
